Mod Green Pod – home textiles

I love fabric! Especially upholstery-weight organic cotton (great for home decoration projects, hangbags, etc.) Lisa Mims co-founded Mod Green Pod during the summer of 2005 with her sister-in-law Nancy after they had both struggled to find home textiles that matched their taste for high design with their desire for a healthier home –and planet — for their children. Mod Green Pod is a proud member of the Organic Trade Association (OTA), all their fabrics are printed on 100% certified organic cotton grown in the United States. Their non-toxic, low-impact printing pigments and dyes give their fabrics rich colour while remaining in compliance with strict Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) standards. In accordance with GOTS, they do not use fabric protectors, color fast agents, stain resistant, wrinkle-free agents or fire retardants on their products. Magnifeco! The printed fabrics have a finished width of approximately 54 inches, and starts at $29.75 USD per yard for solids and $39.75 USD per yard for prints.

They also have a line of wallpapers. Most conventional wallpaper is made from or is coated with vinyl, also known as polyvinyl chloride or PVC. This material ranks among the most environmentally damaging plastics. The production process of PVC releases highly toxic materials called dioxins into the air, and then again upon eventual incineration. Mod Green Pod‘s vinyl-free wallpapers are back to the basics as well. They use water-based inks on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper and finished the product with a water-based glaze that can tolerate light wiping. Width: 27″ when trimmed. Repeat: 13.375″ x 13.25″ (V x H.) Starts at $60.00 USD per roll. Ships everywhere.
