Eco-boutiques from Canada and the U.S.

We are (still) relaxing in Bali this week and so in lieu of Sunday Sales – we thought we would share with you a few of our favourite eco-boutiques from the Canada and the U.S.:

They only deal with manufacturers who employ fairly paid labour practices: this eliminates the dilemma of choosing between fashion and ethics.
Mudsharkstreetwear.com, Canada’s leading online retailer of Independent fashion with a focus on Canadian fashion, independent designers, streetwear, eco-fashion, and sustainable clothing. The idea behind the store was to create an environment where an online store setting could take Canadian culture and apply it to the fashion forward individual of today. Mudshark Streetwear started out (in 1997) by collecting as many Canadian made clothing labels that would appeal to the sophisticated taste of hard to please fashion enthusiasts. They stock rack after rack of innovative and quality independent designer fashion and streetwear – lots of it eco-fashion, and sustainable clothing.
Not Just Pretty is not your typical organic clothing store. They bill themselves as a small Manhattan style boutique in western Canada’s most conscious city, Victoria. They have a wide range of hip, stylish clothing from some of the most forward thinking international designers. They also have funky accessories and hair and beauty products. Everything they sell is sustainable.
