Boutique of the week – KIND
![]()
Hi-ya! I’m Erin! And, KIND is my shop, which opened its online doors October 2009. I pretty much run the entire operation and absolutely LOVE it. I say “pretty much,” because my boyfriend does a lot of work behind the scenes making sure the website is up and running smoothly. Oh! And, all of those pretty illustrations on the site? Well, those were done by the wonderful and sweet, Jackie Bos. Definitely take a peek at her work. She is one talented lady.
Our Beliefs and Goals-
At KIND, we believe in a lot of things. We believe we can change the world from our home and that tiny changes can make huge and wonderful differences. We believe that the things we wear, fill our homes with, write on, use to beautify ourselves or give as a gift are a reflection of ourselves. But, above all, we believe in kindness – to ourselves, to our neighbors, to the animals, and to the environment.
Our goal is for you come to our little shop and become inspired to join us in the life changing pleasures of living consciously. And, we have a surprising mix of things to hopefully do that. Whether it be old or new, simple, embellished, humorous, silly, handmade, curiously tailored, or is constructed of odd bits and bobs, one thing is for sure: the items we carry are the result of passion, obsession, great finds, and great ideas.
Who and What We Stock-
We fill our online shelves with some pretty awesome wares from seriously admire worthy designers. And, we have everything from clothing and shoes to housewares and beauty items. We also have a small but lovely collection of vintage finds because, really, what is more eco-friendly than recycling? We are constantly searching for more in sustainable style and design, and try to restock our online shelves frequently.
To feature some of my favorite designers and pieces, I have put together a few inspired looks. Here we go!!!
1. Popomomo Garde Romper 2. Marais Emerald Espadrille Wedge 3. Priti Polish in Tulip Tree and Red Riding Hood Tulip 4. Doucette Duvall Surfers Francisco Tank 5. Feral Childe Alpine Pullover 6. Carrie Girl Clementine Clutch
The pieces are punchy and different, and simply perfect for impromptu picnics, garden partying it up, or just riding your bike to the farmers market for a bouquet of fresh poppies. In bright floral hues, these pieces feature fun details like cut outs, scalloped edges and ruched sleeves.
1. Mociun Tank in Beads Print 2. Mociun Hair Dolly Skirt 3. Mociun Tank in Black and White Lines 4. Bodkin La Nina Bralette 5. Priti Polish in Bachelor’s Buttons and Ruby Giant 6. Doucette Duvall Rainforest Blouse 7. Erica Weiner Pyramid Earrings
Whether seaside, poolside, or just hanging inside, these pieces are definitely bold and sexy. They say: I have miles of style, but don’t take me too seriously; I love fashion, but I can see the humor in it – think shabori-dyed mini tops, loose blouses with larger than life florals and prints, prints, prints!
1. Erica Weiner Milagro Heart Necklaces 2. Mika Butterfly Top 3. Nixxi Scoop Neck Tee 4. Erica Weiner Shoe Clips 5. Feral Childe Lederhosen Leggings 6. Popomomo Bess Tunic
Black and white and all shades in between, when combined, are nothing short of bold! I always love a good graphic punch and these pieces deliver with a KAPOW! Neutral hues on geometric tunics, Hepburn-esque shoe clips or sketched leggings could never, ever get you called boring. And while you are out fabulously changing the world and wearing your heart on one sleeve, wouldn’t it be lovely to wear a butterfly on the other!
